„"The Respite Tourism Model" – a practical guide for organizations providing respite tourism services. This is a step-by-step documentshows how to plan and implement trips for people with various types of disabilities and their caregivers.
The model explains, among other things, who the participants of respite tourism are, how to communicate with them, and how to prepare an accessible, safe, and attractive trip. It also includes specific guidelines for creating stay programs – both short and long – using carefully selected activities.
This publication was created thanks to the involvement of project experts, largely associated with non-governmental organizations that provide daily services to people with disabilities and their families. The document was also widely consulted both in-person and online with social organizations, representatives of public and local government institutions, and, above all, with people with disabilities and their families.
